The Samadhi is constructed at the cremation ground of Maharaj Khaba (1824-25 A.D.) who was also known by other names like Nongchup Lamgaingamba and as Ningthem Bhadra Singh. Maharaj Khaba reigned for only one year, covering the later period of the infamous Chahi Taret Khuntakpa or the Seven Year's Devastation of Manipur by occupying Burmese (Awa) forces.

The Samadhi is erected on slightly raised platform 0.75 m from the ground level. The platform is constructed by moulding a series of bricks laid one upon another. The sanctum rests on the platform with a projection in the front. The Samadhi faces east. The only access to the inner sanctum is through this facade. The inner sanctum is oblong in shape. The facade is decorated with arch opening constructed meticuously with wedge-shaped bricks that are joined delicately by lime and shurki (brick powder) mortar. The outside wall of the Samadhi is plastered simply and has no decorations. There is no ventilation holes in the walls. The roof of the sanctum is dome-shaped, simple and plain with no decor. The roof has crowning cape. Curved eaves form the only decor of the Samadhi. The projected area is 17.65 x 13.50 sq.m.
